Problem: Distorted Sound, Heartbeat stalled

Dear Fourier team,

i am writing this directly from a rehearsal.
We just encountered a new problem with the fourier transform engine:
For approx. 2 hours everything went fine (12 chains with mostly Fabfilter Reverbs in it). But suddenly the sound from the engine was very distorted, so i had to turn the effects down. Reloaded the Showfile didnt help. I then changed the state to ā€œofflineā€, waited around 30 secs. and then again to ā€œEditā€, but it only rebooted with ā€œHeartbeat stalledā€ and no Plugin was loading.
I then had to restart the whole engine (cut the power), which helped. But in the middle of a rehearsal or even show this is problematic…
I hope, the developer team can work on that and provide a fix.

It would be also nice to have a real ā€œrestart engineā€ button in the software in case this happens. Because sometimes the fourier engine could be in a server room which is not so easily accesible…

Somebody had the same issue?
Thank you!

Hey MBell92,

I’m really sorry to hear you have been experiencing issues with your engine, as soon as possible, please contact [email protected] with the following:

  1. The log files from your engine. (See Here)
  2. The timestamps and your timezone that the error occurred. (This wont have to be exact, it just gives us a hint)
  3. Your showfile.
  4. A description of the distortion (ticking, overdriven, bitchrushed…)

We will be able to take things from there and get to the bottom of this.
I have not heard of this issue before, but it would be great to understand if others had!

It would be also nice to have a real ā€œrestart engineā€ button in the software in case this happens. Because sometimes the fourier engine could be in a server room which is not so easily accesible…

Definitely agree on this part, I’ve logged it with tracking ref. TF-3489!
