Hi Fourier Folks,
Anyone experience with running the software from a Virtual Machine on (W10) on a server?
I’m looking into controlling plugins from a StageTec Avatus through remote connection.
Remote Desktop from a laptop/desktop would also work.
The control of the whole Fourier engine is through the fourieraudio app, which is kind of a Remote Desktop app by itself. In the sense that the screen You get to operate on is actually on the server and You are operating that remotely.
The app has (as far as my knowledge goes) no audio or plugin interaction functions. It is purely an app that sets up a remote connection te the server, just like a Remote Desktop application does.
My guess is that any computer running windows or Mac version that run the transform app can operate the server. If the stageTec Avantus is capable of connecting to a desktop laptop through Remote Desktop You can run the Fourier app on the desktop/laptop and control it from the stagetec.
Guess in that setup, the reaction time from the desk to the server will be slower because its two remote connections on top of each other. But for the actual running plugins there is no difference, since everything audio : running the plugin and changing parameters happens on the Fourier server. the Fourier app is just a remote, this is why several instances of the app can be operating/using the Fourier audio engine at the same time.
