Silencer by Blacksalt audio

I try to use BSA Silencer. After inserting it on channel I have random CPU overload peaks hapen. Does anyone have this behavior ? Anybody to help? Thnx

Hi, there’s already a topic about this issue. It hasn’t been fixed yet.

Just a heads up: BSA Silencer seems to be somewhat of a buggy/glitchy Plugin in general. I’ve had a lot of problems with it even in the studio - where the settings I dialed in werent saved with my projects. So I decided to abandon it for now, even though its a great gate, if it works.

normally, these issue comes from Plugin not hardware. many VST3 plugin caused CPU spike issue. so, before use for your show. must need to tested. these issue connected with system Buffer size. in Live, normally We use super lower buffer for plugin systems. this is basic issue. Pro Tools or Logic, there use super higher buffer for system. I tested over 200~300 plugins with my VST3 systems, still so many VST3 plugin caused CPU spike issues, when lower buffer. so, if you want to avoid CPU spike issue, please increase system buffer or use higher spec of desktop which many many P-Core. example, 12 or 24 P-Cores (Mac Studio Ultra) not Hyper Thread, just need physical P-Core.

Maybe this could be a nice Feature to add in future Transform Engine Updates:
More Buffer Sizes to choose from.

So if a Plugin causes problems at 64 Samples, we could at least try for example 128 Samples. Depending on the context, this might still work in terms of latency.

Hi all,

We are working on resolving the DSP spikes occurring with Silencer. For now, the plugin should be run at a 512 period size for reliable operation. (Tracking Ref: TF-3895)

We plan to add additional buffer sizes in the coming release, as seen on our roadmap!

Any further questions, don’t hesitate to let me know.
